Traditional Chinese Medicine

This is an overview of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

TCM includes a range of medical practices originating in China. It is a very common component of medical care throughout Asia, and is often used there alongside Western medical methods. However, in much of the Western world, these techniques have not been assimilated by mainstream medicine.

The main methods of TCM are acupuncture, tui na massage, reflexology, and Chinese herbal medicine. The main concepts of TCM in the model of the human body, health, and disease, are Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, the Five Organs, Qi, Blood, Meridians, the Six Excesses and the Six Pathogens.
